Aged Care Project wins innovation award

Victorian Association of Health and Extended Care (VAHEC) National Training Pilot Project won the Innovation in Training and Assessment Service Delivery award at the Community Service and Health Industry Training Board annual industry training awards. The project is a collaborative effort between several key contributors, one of which is Mentor Training (Aust).

Mentor Training have designed, developed and implemented a sustainability program through the use of mentoring to support the training delivery. 40 in situ workplace mentors have been provided with additional training and mentoring tools that assist each facility to sustain the knowledge and skills acquired through structured training.

The project has delivered training to 144 non-nursing staff in 26 facilities throughout Victoria. Pathways Health and Education Consultants (PHEC) delivered the training component of the project using innovative delivery and assessment methods. Literacy and numeracy support has also been given to participants of the project via Lynda Wise and Associates.

Congratulations to all involved in the project.
