Details of additional training modules required as part of the NTPP

At the February Mentor Conference, all workplace mentors were notified of details of the two additional training modules required as part of the NTPP. Please note the following.

The two-day workshop for Lead and Develop Others (CHCORG11B) will no longer be required. The competencies within this unit are covered within the mentoring module, and therefore it is appropriate to deliver this module only.

In the role of workplace mentor, the mentors are already performing the competencies of "Provide Mentoring Support to Colleagues (CHCORG27A)", therefore a one-day workshop is not required. Competence will be assessed through the following means:

• Completion of mentoring meeting documentation;
• Completion of Mentoring Activities Reports;
• Attendance, and participation at mentor conferences;
• Ongoing education provided through the newsletter;
• Ongoing education provided through the External Mentor;
• Participation in all mentoring activities;
• Participation in online forums; and
• Liaison with the External Mentor

An assessment will be conducted to ensure that the competencies are met. (See attached document for details of competency standards, performance criteria, etc for this unit). The assessment process and guidelines will be forthcoming, as will details of who will conduct the assessment.
